What you are playing

Eleven spins, one impossible record

16-0 is a free IPL team-builder about a record no franchise has ever set. You draft an all-time XI one player at a time from real IPL franchise-season cards, then send it into a full season: fourteen league matches against ten opponents, Qualifier 1, and the Final.

Each spin offers a franchise and a year, and you select one eligible player from that season before deciding which of your open roles he fills. That constraint is the game. You are rarely choosing the best cricketer available; you are choosing the one who leaves your XI with the fewest unanswered questions twenty overs from now. A side of eleven famous names will beat most opposition and still lose the one match that ends a perfect run.

Before your first spin

Four things that decide most drafts

Read the shape before the first spin

The formation you choose fixes eleven jobs, and every later spin is judged against the ones still open. Decide whether you want an extra all-rounder or a specialist spinner now, while the whole board is still available to you.

Spend overseas places slowly

Four is a hard ceiling, and it is the single most common way a promising draft dies. A brilliant overseas pick at selection three can leave you unable to fill a death-bowling slot at selection ten with anyone eligible.

Count your twenty overs early

Batting depth is easy to accumulate by accident; a full bowling plan is not. By the halfway point of the draft you should be able to name who takes the new ball, who bowls in the middle and who is trusted at the death.

Take the reroll when the board is wrong

You get one. It is worth more when a franchise-season combination offers nothing for an open role than when it merely offers something less exciting than you hoped for.

The full rule set — formations, the five roles, difficulty levels and how the simulation weighs a squad — is written up in how to play, and the longer strategy pieces live in the guides.

Ways to play

Four modes, one draft engine

Classic

The open archive

Every franchise and every season is in the machine. The standard run, and the one the leaderboard is built around.

Daily

One shared set of spins

Everybody receives the same seeded selection sequence each day, so the board compares decisions rather than luck. Three escalating stages, resetting at 00:00 IST.

Loyalty

One franchise only

Build the XI from a single team’s history. Far harder, because no one franchise has covered every role brilliantly in every era.

Era War

One period against another

Restrict the draft to a slice of IPL history and see which era actually produced the more complete side.

Questions

Before you start

Do I need an account to play?

No. The game is free and runs entirely in your browser with no sign-up, no email and no login. Your progress, Daily streak and Crown cabinet are stored locally in the browser you play in, so clearing site data or switching device starts a fresh cabinet.

How long does one season take?

A full run is usually six to ten minutes: eleven selections, then the fourteen-match league and, if you qualify, the playoffs. The Daily Challenge takes about the same time because it uses the same draft length.

What actually counts as 16-0?

Fourteen league wins, then Qualifier 1, then the Final — sixteen wins with no defeats, no washouts and no second route through the playoffs. Finishing 15-1 is an excellent season, but it is not a perfect one.

Is the result random?

Partly, and deliberately. Your XI sets the quality and balance; opponent strength, conditions and match variance then decide each fixture. A well-built side is favoured in every match without being guaranteed any of them, which is why the same XI can return different records.

Can I play a specific IPL franchise or era?

Yes. Loyalty mode restricts the draft to a single franchise, and Era War puts one period of IPL history against another. Both use the same season cards as Classic mode.

Is this an official IPL game?

No. 16-0 is an independent fan-made project with no affiliation to the IPL, the BCCI or any franchise. It uses publicly available player names and historical statistics, and no official logos or photographs.
